It Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Directorate is the central support unit that provides all of the University’s ICT services and facilities. The Directorate is committed to supporting, improving and transforming the way ICT is used across Karatina University.
At Karatina University, we want to provide the best possible experience for our students and staff, so we’re persistently improving the way we work. The IT Transformation Journey will mean huge improvements for our IT systems, website, connectivity and services, enabling our staff and students to work flexibly with all the information they need at their fingertips.
Changes are already taking place. Following an extensive implementation last year, the Navision ERP is now operational to a large extent, and remarkable progress in configuration/training is taking place for the few areas that are not yet functional. Wireless network (WiFi network) is now available across both the main and Itiati campuses and at connection speeds that are much faster than the original. In early 2015, the connection speed to the internet will further increase at the completion of a higher bandwidth radio link that is currently under construction.
The IT Transformation drive will continue and result in better integrated and improved technology for everyone at the University.
